Wall-E NXT

En esta oportunidad les presento mi versión de Wall-e, elaborada con las piezas de Lego Mindstorm NXT. Si bien en internet se pueden encontrar distintos modelos de Wall-E, yo quería elaborar uno que pueda ser armado con un solo kit Lego Mindstorm NXT versión educativa (9797). Aquí les presento el resultado:

In this opportunity I will present you my version of Wall-E, made with Lego Mindstorm NXT. If you search on the internet you will find a lot of models of Wall-E, but I wanted to make one that can be built with a single Lego Mindstorm NXT set, the educational version (9797). Here I present the result:

Decobot

Que tal, hace tiempo que no posteo nada, pero he estado muy ocupado entre la universidad y el trabajo, pero a partir de la próxima semana vuelvo a postear nuevas construcciones con WeDo y también con NXT. 

Hi, How are you?, sorry but I could not post anything these days because I was very busy at university and at work, but the next week i will be posting new projects using WeDo but also using NXT.

Para empezar con los diseños usando NXT les presento al Decobot, un robot que desarrolle para un taller en la Universidad Católica del Perú  Este robot es armado usando un kit de lego Mindstorm NXT - versión educativa. Para mostrar las cualidades del kit también elabore una pista de prueba en donde el Decobot pueda resolver un desafío. Aquí les dejo el vídeo:

Starting with the NXT models, let me introduce the Decobot. I created this robot for a  workshop that took place in the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. This robot is built using a lego mindstorm NXT set (the education version). To show the qualities of the mindstorm set, I also have elaborated a test track in where the Decobot has to solve a challenge. Here the video:

Construcciones WeDo

A continuación mostrare todas las construcciones que he diseñado hasta la fecha con el kit WeDo. Aleatoriamente iré publicando cada una de las construcciones detallando el mecanismo usado, videos y guías de construcción, pero si gustan alguno en especial, me escriben (por mail o comentando) diciéndome con cuál quieren que empiece. También si tienen alguna idea me gustaría que la compartan. Hasta ahora solo he publicado dos: El elefante y el Lobo de mar.

In this oportunity I wil show you all the buildings I made until now. I will publish each of them randomly detailing the mechanism used, videos showing how they work and constructions guide, but if you like one please write me (by mail or commenting) telling me with which building you would like I start with.  Until now I have only published two: The elephant and the sea lion.

Guía de Construcción de Lobo de Mar WeDo

Aquí les dejo la guía de construcción del Lobo de Mar. Recuerden que se puede construir con 1 kit WeDo, pero de 208 piezas, el cuál es único en perú. Si tienen el kit de 158 piezas necesitaran al menos dos para poder armarlo.

You can follow the links below to see the construction guide of the WeDo Sea lion. You must remember that its can be build with one Lego WeDo set but the special peruvian version that comes with 208 pieces, If you want to build it you have to use at least 2 regular WeDo sets (158 pieces).

La guía ha sido hecha usando el software MLCAD (Clic aquí para ver su pagina web). Luego las imagenes las exporto usando LDView pasando del formato MLCAD (.ldr) al formato .pov. Usando el software Pov-Ray abro el archivo .pov y lo exporto como .bmp. Finalmente usando un programa de edición de imagenes lo paso a png y en Indesign hago la guía. Gracias a esto puedo publicar la guía en swf y en pdf.

The guide have been made using MLCAD software (Clic here to check its web page). Then I export  the images using LDView, taking them from the MLCAD format (.ldr) to the format .pov. Using the Pov-Ray software I open the .pov file and export it as .bmp. Finally using any program to edit images I take the bmp file and save it as png and in Adobe Indesign I do the guide. Thanks to this i can publish the guide as swf or pdf.

Mas adelante posteare una guía detallada para que puedan hacer sus propias guías de construcción haciendo uso del MLCAD.

In a future post I will publish a more detail guide of how to do a LEGO construction guide using MLCAD.
